POST PANDEMIC WORK CULTURE

KEYWORDS: Office better or co-working space, Co-working space for organisation

It has been more than a year now, that COVID – 19 has been declared a pandemic by WHO. What we as a generation is an ongoing transition from the old normal to the new normal. Not only workspaces but the ways of lives have changed worldwide during the previous year particularly. With the emergence of new platforms for office work like zoom to smaller new app doing random things like delivering grocery products, we have adopted as means to live and earn our bread. With previous ways of life-changing, some things essential to function cannot be changed. Just like reopening of our offices as the usual. You sitting in your small cubical sipping coffee seems like a far-fetched reality now. On similar lines, people have now started to adopt new approaches like co-working spaces which are far better than a usual office. Co-working spaces provide organisations with less financial burden and more flexibility. According to the JLJ study, the requirement for co-working spaces will increase to 40-50% in the coming years.

Why are co-working spaces preferred?

Coworking spaces come with their own benefits which are:

  1. Increases motivation and productivity

Sometimes working at home is an option that is a bit more than comfortable, it encourages lethargy and impedes productivity. You’re working must motivate to work more and be most productive to accomplish tasks in the lesser time span. Coworking spaces can be a place you can concentrate, set hours to work and accomplish your set tasks and goals for the day.

  1. Financial cushion

Coworking is a good option economically with the benefits outweighing those which one might get working from home. Yes, working from home is the cheapest but with other benefits and scope of the expanding business, coworking is the most beneficial option for freelancers.

  1. Technological and infrastructure support

Sometimes a home just might not enough when you’re stuck on less internet speed or power cuts. Coworking spaces can provide you with technological supports not just wifi or power but small things like an extra laptop on days when yours is not working, printing facilities and stationery which not be readily available at your home. Comfortable working desks and cushions could just be a booster plus for promoting productivity in these spaces.

  1. Networking and connections

Coworking spaces offer a chance to socialise with like-minded individuals. These interactions are an important and integral part of our lives as social beings. These not only offer a positive environment to work but also can lead to sometimes invaluable professional connections for freelancers.

  1. Various amenities not available at home

Facilities like a working reception, changing your workspaces according to natural lighting, moods etc are just the augmentation of the facilities available home available at coworking spaces for freelancers. The ease of having a coffee machine in near proximity while working or taking balcony breaks are some the small things that add up to making big differences while working.
